Sidr in Traditional Ruqyah Practices
Alongside its established use for cleansing, Sidr has also become widely used by Muslims as part of personal ruqyah routines.
A common traditional practice is to mix Sidr leaves or ground Sidr into water, recite Qur’an and du‘a over the water, and use it to wash the body.

How to Prepare Sidr Water
Because Sunnah Garden Sidr is already finely ground, preparation is simple.
Add approximately 1 teaspoon of ground Sidr to a bowl or container of clean water and mix well.
There is no required religious measurement for ground Sidr; this is simply a practical starting amount and can be adjusted depending on how much water you are preparing.
For a Ruqyah Wash
Prepare the Sidr water and recite Qur’an and du‘a over it.
Common recitations may include:

Sidr Hair Wash
Mix 1–3 tablespoons of Sidr Powder with warm water until you reach a loose, shampoo-like consistency.
Apply to wet hair and scalp and gently massage through the roots.
Leave for approximately 5–10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Use weekly or whenever your scalp could use a refresh.
Sidr Scalp Mask
Mix Sidr Powder with enough warm water to create a smooth paste.
Apply primarily to the scalp and roots, leave for approximately 10–15 minutes, then rinse well.
For easier rinsing, do not allow the Sidr mixture to completely dry and harden on the hair.
For Skin & Body
Sidr has also traditionally been used as a simple plant-based cleanser for the skin and body.
The leaves contain naturally occurring polyphenols, flavonoids, and saponins and continue to attract interest from modern researchers studying the Sidr plant.
